Our Approach

At Beacon Hill School we like to say that we don’t teach a curriculum or a syllabus - we teach children. This reflects our overall belief that every student is unique. Our personalised approach to education is designed to help students find their passions and ignite their interests - whatever they may be.

Curriculum

We are an IB World School, which means that the basis of our curriculum is the IB Primary Years (PYP) and Middle Years (MYP) programmes. These amazing programmes will allow your child to learn about the world around them, but also to be inquisitive, curious and interested in not just finding answers, but also in asking questions.

Student Support & Wellbeing

At Beacon Hill School we put the health, happiness and well-being of our students at the heart of everything that we do. An education is about more than just learning facts or gaining knowledge: it is also about learning how to manage the challenges, stresses and opportunities that all of us are confronted with in our daily lives.

Our teachers understand this and work with each of our students to understand their needs and to help them learn the skills they need for life.

Parent Partnership

Every parent always wants the best for their child - and one of the most common questions we receive is ‘what can I do to support my son or daughter in their learning?’

Parents of students at Beacon Hill School are invited to play an active role in their child’s education. Throughout the year we have a number of opportunities to meet the teacher and to learn about progress. We also run a number of events designed to give parents helpful tools to help their child as they work their way through the various stages of their education.

Specialist Provision

In addition to Mandarin, we have a number of specialist teachers and staff here at Beacon Hill School. Chinese culture and language are incredibly important to us, as are drama, art, music and physical education. This variety of provisions enriches the experience for your child and, of course, can help them find their passions.
