It has been two years since my three sons moved from a prestigious local school to be part of the Beacon Hill School family. I like what I have seen but I will stop short of saying it is the best decision; I would rather say this is a great educational program and an amazing environment to foster a positive learning attitude that would be helpful for their long-term development in this ever-changing world. My appreciation to the teachers for their continuous hard work, support and care!

🏷: Senior Choir: Workshop with SuRie
.
📅: 13 October 2026
.
🖊: More than 60 of our senior choir students joined primary choirs from across ESF for a full‑day workshop at KGV with the artist SuRie. She guided our students through a dynamic programme - including some of her own compositions - and drew on musical theatre techniques that were both engaging and appropriately challenging. Our singers rose to the occasion with great focus and enthusiasm, especially when exploring the subtle shifts in tone and colour that make musical theatre so expressive. We are very fortunate to be able to offer opportunities like this and are proud of the way our students represented BHS.

SuRie (Susanna Marie Cork) is a British singer‑songwriter and musical‑theatre performer, trained at the Royal Academy of Music. She represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with Storm, and had previously worked on the contest as a backing vocalist/dancer for Belgium’s Loïc Nottet (2015) and as musical director for Blanche (2017). On stage, she has built a strong musical‑theatre profile, winning the 2024 Offie Award for Lead Performance in a Musical for Annie Get Your Gun, with further credits including The Last Five Years and Little Women.

🖊: Upon Ms. Bratsanos’s recommendation, Abby participated in She Races 2026 and completed her 4k trail run in 35 minutes. Right after the run, she went straight to the Central and Western District table tennis competition, where she played through four matches and earned 2nd runner-up!

Her biggest milestone was successfully managing both events back-to-back in a single day. It turned out to be a fantastic experience and a great learning opportunity for her.

Well done, Abby!

🏷: Senior Choir: Workshop with SuRie
